Hi everyone, hope all ok? Had a great day Tuesday, felt really good, even went for a walk during my lunch break the weather was so lovely. Learned my lesson from Monday, not taking regular painkillers etc. Was quite sore this morning, but soldiered on into work having taken 2 paracetemol at home with breakfast and then 2 4 hours later in work. About half and hour later felt really light headed and very nearly fainted in the middle of the office, much to my embarassment! Anyway, came home, looked at the paracetemol and realised they were with caffeine. I can only assume this was what caused my "turn" Has anyone else found this?

Gues what I wont be using again!!!

Have just ordered myself some eee shoes, am hoping they arrive soon and that my insoles aka flippers will fit inside and fix my very sore back!!

Cheers everyone!

Hello Heather, I sometimes take them purposely because they give me a little lift. If your body isn't used to the cafeine like in tea or coffee or coke even, then something strange may happen, I usually avoid it because it always reacts on my bladder. One of my daughters, she's 37 says it makes her hyper.Glenys.

That's funny you brought this up as I cannot understand why they would mix caffeine into paracetamol. I can not take them either, they gave me a horrible panicky feeling one evening, never again.

Plus, I sometimes take two paracetamol to get to sleep so these are useless for these occasions! LOL

Hope you're feeling much better,

Love,

Amanda

You can get ones with caffeine- I think they're called something like 'paracetamol extra' which is very misleading- it sounds like they are extra strength, but you have to read the small print to find out that they contain caffeine!

Apparently they put the caffeine in because it makes the paracetamol work faster, that's why they are called "extra".
I always avoid the ones with caffeine in but it would be easy to pick them up by mistake.
Hope you've recovered now Heather!

I asked my brother in law who's a forensic scientist working with illegal drugs ........ he said the caffeine is added to paracetamol because it works better that way for headaches.

I have to admit that I sometimes take paracetamol with a mug of coffee, hoping that it will work quicker! Then recently I noticed that I was using decaffeinated coffee, duh!
